How To Lighten Tint On Car Windows

I have 5% tints on my back windows and I'm ttired of getting pulled over for them. HOw do I get them lighter with out having to take them off, is there something I could spray on them

nope i have the same thing cops like dark tint and shiny tips u gotta remove and get a lighter one its like $15 roll

Just take it off. It's not that difficult to take tint off.

Make sure when you take the back window off, you don't use a scraper on the defroster lines, or it's bye-bye lines.

get a top corner of it started, and them keep it moist in the area thats unpeeled. keep workin it from there with a plastic putty knife. if its really sharp then dull it out a little bit or like said youll scrape the defroster lines off.

i work at tint shop, 1. impossible to lighten tint, 2. when going over back glass tint, use windex with amonia in it, then rip open a garbage bag and soak the S&^t out of it, and do the same to the glass, the press on and take all the air out with your hand, let it sit in the sun for like a hour or so, maybe 2 becasue is gettin chilly out, then use double zero steel wool and rub in circles to take the ramaing glue off, and o ya do this after you peel as much tint off by hand as possible, also if you peel from a corner and peel slow, i mean like really slow like maybe 3 inches ever 30 seconds, sometimes you can get the glue to snap off the glass and back onto the tint, but you have to go slow, but it worth it in the end, but make sure while rubbing with the steel wool that you go in circles and change sides of the wool often and always keep it moist, follow the rules and your tint should come out good, and unless you have tinted before dont try and do it yourself with some autozone tint , that S^%t will turn purple in like 6 months and you will be kicking yourself doing it, go to a nice shop and get that S&^t put on really nice so its clean, and i know that in CT 35% is legal and you can only have less on rear side windows like 20% and the backglass can be what ever you want..like 5% which is limo tint..so good luck im for Q's. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

why are you getting grief for tint on your rear windows?? Do you have a sticker on the back that says "Harass Me"
I had full tint on my WRX and never had problems over it. I did have problems with the cops after doing 140 between Vegas and Victorville.
The tint on the rears on the new Explorers is factory and is impossible to see through on the outside.
I just dont get it.

yep.. sweat it off..
works well.. i usually pull it off after 20 mins.. all depends on the sun. also how bad the film is. that is being removed. if its delaminating or super purple. then it comes off in small chunks..

I used to have to take tint off all the time at the shop worked at. Use a hair dryer or a heat gun (even better) Once off, hit it with some solvent, done.
